Franklin, Tenn. — Vanderbilt Legends Club is pleased to welcome Mark Wakefield as executive chef. A Nashville native with more than two decades of culinary experience, Wakefield will lead the club’s kitchen team and craft a new culinary vision as part of the club’s soon-to-reopen, newly renovated clubhouse.

Wakefield most recently served as executive chef for the Compass Group, following a 15-year tenure at Hillwood Country Club in Nashville, including seven years as its executive chef. He trained under the guidance of French Master Chef Patrice Boley and has received numerous awards and accolades for his culinary achievements.

Known for his ingredient-driven philosophy, Wakefield is committed to sourcing the finest products and allowing their natural flavors to shine—an approach that aligns perfectly with Vanderbilt Legends Club’s vision of refined, member-focused dining.

“Mark’s passion for culinary excellence and his dedication to quality make him a tremendous asset to our club,” said General Manager Jim Leisenring. “We’re excited to see how his leadership in the kitchen will enrich the dining experiences for our members as we open this exciting new chapter.”

Set to debut this spring, the club’s 35,000-square-foot clubhouse will include multiple dining venues designed to complement the club’s two 18-hole championship courses, par-3 course and expansive practice facility. The North and South Courses, designed by Tom Kite and Bob Cupp, are celebrated as among the finest in Tennessee.
