Kent Country Club is proud to announce that our General Manager, Ward Sutton, MCM, CCE, PGA Master Professional, has been awarded the prestigious Master Club Manager (MCM) designation by the Club Management Association of America (CMAA). This honor is a testament to Ward's dedication, expertise, and commitment to advancing the private club industry.
The MCM designation, achieved by only 25 individuals since its inception, recognizes significant and lasting contributions to the club management profession. Ward was officially awarded the designation during the Opening Business Session of the 2025 CMAA World Conference and Club Business Expo in Tampa, FL, on February 6. Ward also becomes the only person in the country with both the MCM designation and PGA Master Professional.
Ward’s monograph, Employer of Choice Principles at Private Clubs, outlines strategies for building motivated teams and fostering a positive workplace culture within private clubs. He emphasizes the importance of treating staff with the same care and respect as members, building meaningful connections, and creating an environment where employees feel valued and supported.
